On April 17, US Secretary of Commerce Pritzker and Deputy Secretary of Energy Sherwood Randall led a delegation to visit Guangdong. The business and energy delegation, commissioned by U.S. President Barack Obama, includes executives from 25 U.S. companies, and the trip is aimed at launching or expanding business operations in China and enhancing the application of advanced sustainable products and services in China, including air/water Clean technology, energy efficient technology, waste treatment technology and green transportation, etc.

At 10:00 a.m., the US delegation held a roundtable meeting with senior executives of 12 companies in South China including Zhengwei Group, Fuyao Glass Group, Shenzhen Energy Group, Guangdong Yudean Group, BYD Co., Ltd., Midea Group, and Haolan Environmental Protection. A meeting was held in the form of a joint discussion on the cooperation opportunities between the two sides in the fields of smart city development, environmental protection and clean energy. At the meeting, Mr. Pan Yuanlai, chairman of the company, put forward his personal opinions on the cooperation between China and the United States in the environmental protection market, and hoped to adopt the business model of "technology + capital", so that relevant American institutions and powerful Chinese environmental protection service enterprises could set up industrial investment funds to promote Promotion and application of American products and technologies in China. Minister Pritzker also expressed the hope that American companies can play a greater role in China's energy conservation, environmental protection, clean energy and other fields.
